My Story

A number of years ago I was looking for home care support for my elderly mother. She couldn’t keep up with her home but wasn’t ready to move into an assisted living situation. I was disappointed that I couldn’t care for her myself and also extremely frustrated by the lack of services available. I realized there was a huge need for non-medical home care support - the kind of support that could help my mother and so many like her with day-to-day tasks. She needed someone to do the laundry, make meals, take her to appointments and simply spend time with her. I knew I wasn’t the only one wishing there was an easy answer. That’s when I created Daughter for a Day.

I know how hard it is to watch your parent struggle in their home. I know it can be scary and overwhelming. I’ve been in your shoes. It is with this personal understanding that I run my business. I want you to think of Daughter for a Day as just that: another family member, someone who is there to help, support and care for your loved one. My team and I will make it possible for your loved one to live independently and happily in their own home, with their friends and family around them.

Why Daughter For A Day

Daughter for a Day exists for one maipurpose: to support the elderly to Live Well In Their Own Home. When seniors are able to remain living in their own homes and communities they experience greater joy and stay healthier. But for many seniors it can be a struggle. They need help with day-to-day tasks and sometimes personal or even overnight care. Our team is committed to providing the highest quality non-medical at-home support service with dignity, compassion & respect.

We know that many seniors feel like they “should” move into an assisted living facility or seniors’ residence. They don’t want to be a burden to family members and cause unnecessary stress. Even though this isn’t anyone’s first choice, the families don’t know how to find a home support caregiver who is caring, responsive & professional. That’s where we come in. We believe that everyone should Live Well In Their Own Home. Home IS where the heart is!

It's Our Mission

To provide excellent home care assistance and support to you and your loved ones, who wish to remain living in the comfort of their own homes. We are committed to providing professional, ethical and quality home care and home support services.
